Many people opt to wear
dental braces by their trusted
orthodontist, typically to restore the aesthetics and function of
their teeth, but some just do it for style. If you’re serious about
needing braces, though, you also have to figure out if you make a
good candidate for one.
Signs
Look at the mirror. If
you have overt signs like crooked or misaligned teeth, an upper or
lower set protruding slightly more forward, or even overcrowded
teeth, you might be in need of braces.
However, aside from how
your teeth look, problems with your bite also justify having braces
installed.
Visit Your Dentist
Should you think that,
given your condition, you can benefit from having braces fitted, then
by all means, visit your dentist for a checkup. Should he concur, he
might refer you to a reliable orthodontist, or if he has the
necessary qualifications, he might do the procedure himself.
Screening
After you get to the
orthodontist’s office, you will have to undergo a more
comprehensive screening, which typically determines if you have a bad
bite or malocclusion. People with this case tend to have pretty much
the same symptoms as what you’ve found through the mirror-check
test earlier.
